Metro Construction started in 1990 with just a handful of employees, a few pieces of equipment and some small projects.

Bob Sherwood founded Metro Construction in Tea, S.D., as a regional sewer and water contractor. Today that remains the company’s main focus. We install sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewers in new construction and rehab work.

Over the next 30 years, Metro grew to 40 employees, added a fleet of equipment and is a leader in the water and sewer industry in the Sioux Falls area. In 2021, a mass grading crew was added to better serve customers’ needs.

Quality work, done efficiently

Today Metro Construction, Inc. is owned by Aaron Sherwood, Bob’s son, and Brook Horstmeyer, a longtime employee. Sherwood and Horstmeyer and their team continue the dependable service and solid work ethic that clients across the region have grown to depend on.
